WTA Finals 2026 Predictions: Rybakina vs. Noskova, Gauff vs. Pegula, Sabalenka vs. Muchova

Picks and odds for the four opening singles matches at the WTA Finals in Indian Wells, plus how the two groups shape up.

The WTA Finals start Sunday, Nov. 8, at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, the first time the season finale is played in the California desert after it moved from Riyadh. It runs through Nov. 15 on an outdoor hard court with $15.5 million in prize money. Eight players are split into two groups of four; the top two in each group reach the semifinals, where each group winner meets the other group's runner-up.

The groups

Rybakina is the defending champion: she won the 2025 Finals without dropping a set, then won the Australian Open and US Open this year, beating Sabalenka in both finals, and ends 2026 at No. 1. Sabalenka has a venue edge: she won the Indian Wells title in March. The WTA Finals is the one big title she has never won. Andreeva, Noskova and Muchova are all making their Finals debut.

Sunday, Nov. 8 (from 3 p.m. ET)

Rybakina (-238) vs. Noskova (+170). Noskova is the Wimbledon champion and hits big off both wings, but her results since July have been up and down. Rybakina's serve is the best weapon in the field. The one question mark: Rybakina lost her opener in Beijing and skipped Wuhan, so she arrives with few recent matches. Pick: Rybakina in straight sets.

Gauff (-143) vs. Pegula (+107). The 2024 champion against her doubles partner and close friend. Pegula has two titles this year but lost her first match after the US Open. Gauff's defense plays well on slower outdoor hard courts. Pick: Gauff. Over 21.5 games is worth a look; their matches are usually long rallies and tight sets.

Monday, Nov. 9 (from 3 p.m. ET)

Sabalenka (-175) vs. Muchova (+127). Muchova is the most dangerous debutant: she won Doha and Bad Homburg and reached the Wimbledon final, and her variety (slices, net play, drop shots) is exactly what bothers big hitters. But Sabalenka won this venue's title in March and has the bigger serve. Pick: Sabalenka, but this is the closest upset chance of the first two days.

Andreeva (-182) vs. Svitolina (+132). The Roland Garros champion against the veteran. Andreeva is quicker and more aggressive off the return; Svitolina wins by making opponents play one more ball. Pick: Andreeva.

Who wins the title?

Rybakina is the favorite on form, but in group play one loss often means needing help, so the opening matches matter a lot. Our lean is Rybakina to win the title, with Sabalenka as the most likely opponent in the final.
